It’s been a few years since doing Macquarie Pass, so we felt that it was due for a visit. We had a party of 7 and met at clover hill car park at 9:30am.

It was a leisurely 35min walk to the abseil point. Phil was keen to go explore the top bit so we continued across the river and headed upwards. We didn’t get to clover hill falls as I think we took the right of the fork where we should have gone left. However we did get to an abseil point and did two abseils before getting back to the spot on the river where we initially were.

From here, it was two more abseils in quick succession, with the second abseil getting you completely wet. Wasn’t sure if the second abseil is actually jump-able. We skipped the slide right after that as we were starting to feel cold, but did the next slide. There was lots of walking and scrambling until we got to the next abseil. It was two abseils here followed by a big jump. After that it was lots more walking until we got to jump rock pool and we did the slide into the water. Once we passed jump rock pool, there is a smaller river joining that main river slightly further down where there is a track to the road. Taking the track, it was an uphill walk to the road and then a walk along the road back to clover hill car park.

It took us 6hr 40mins, with the top section taking 2hrs. It was a great trip with a total of 6 abseils, 2 slides and 1 jump.
