Not fall from the Carrington Falls Loop Track there is another carpark on the other side of the Kangaroo river. While there isn’t a spectacular waterfall like Carrington Falls, it still offers a great walk, stunning views and a water hole for swimming.

To get to the start of this hike, take the Nellies Glen Trail off Cloonty Road. The Budderoo National Park is just south of Robertson, with the turn off at the Robertson Pie Shop.

Unlike the Carrington Falls Loop Track, this track is not paved, so good sturdy shoes are recommended. The area had received a few days of rain prior to us arriving and the track was quite muddy.

The Warris Chair Lookout and Missingham’s Lookout offer similar views. So I would suggest only doing Warris Chair Lookout if you are short of time. You should, however, check out Nellies Glen, which is a swimming hole just 150m from the car park.

Above is Nellies Glen. It’s winter when I did this hike and I can imagine this being a popular swimming hole in the summer.

Another great hike that’s close to Wollongong.
