Adventurous sports you may not have tried

Here at Wollongong Fitness, we love exciting, thrilling and adventurous sports, from scuba diving to mountain biking. Not only are these activities thrilling and exciting but they are also excellent forms of exercise.

If you are a health-conscious person who normally goes out for a run on a Saturday morning, rather than having a relaxing lie-in and playing Partypoker in bed with a coffee, then you might be keen to try out some new and exciting ways to exercise. Below are three adrenaline-pumping activities you might be interested in trying.

Rock Climbing

This is an excellent way to build up stamina, strengthen your muscles and tone your body. Rock climbing is much more physically demanding than it looks. Climbers are forced to use all their strength to pull up their body weight. You’ll find that even half an hour of rock climbing gets your heart pumping faster which also makes it a good cardiovascular exercise too. In addition, you’ll get to encounter stunning views from the top of the rock.

Diving in the Great Barrier Reef

If you want to experience something really thrilling and exciting then why not try swimming in the Great Barrier Reef? Swimming is a great form of exercise because it strengthens your legs and arms. So not only will you be able to see one of earth’s most beautiful coral reefs, but you’ll be working out too.

Kitesurfing

Kitesurfing (also called kiteboarding) relies on strong winds because you are basically surfing with a kite. If you master the art of riding waves, you’ll be able to perform big jumps and twists over the water. It’s quite similar to wakeboarding, but without the boat. Kite Boarding strengthens your arms (because you have to hold on tightly to the kite) as well as your thighs because you have to squat the whole time.
