nike-she-runs-the-night-sold-out-2013

On Thursday, 3 May 2012, Nike Australia made history, hosting the country’s first ever female night race.

More than 3,200 women descended on the iconic and picturesque grounds of Centennial Park in Sydney for the 13km race. The inaugural event forms part of the Nike Women’s Race Series taking place in 15 cities around the world, involving more than 50,000 women.

This year, they’re hosting the event in Sydney again, on May 4th 2013 at Centennial Park.
It’s a great event and part of the ongoing Nike She Runs campaign to bring the women of Australia together to share their passion for running and sport.

I ran the 2013 route last Friday with a few others and below is the GPS mapping of route. The route isn’t exact as we missed a turn off to Robinson Drive (between the 4th and 5th kilometer) and took Loch Ave instead. We also stopped for water at the 7km mark (so we were suppose to stay on the road). It’s a 10K run and we hope the map will give you a guide to the route for the event (especially the elevation profile).

You can download the GPX file if your running app allows you to load routes so that you can do a practice run of the route prior to the event.
